nothing connects from address bar

Hi-

All of sudden (seriously) I've have this problem with IE (any version since
I've tried upgrading from 5.01, 5.5 and now 6 SP1) that no matter what I
type in the address bar it will not connect to that site. Yet... if I go to
my favorites and click on the same site it connects immediately. So it's
like the address bar has quit working. Weird

Any ideas what might be going on? I ran adaware6 and cleaned out some Gator
crap and other stuff and I ran a virus scan that came up clean.

Daf, I am having a similar problem, addresses typed into
the address bar often do not connect, while other times
(back button, favorites, etc) connection is pretty quick.

Weird problem - that's for sure. Unfortunately I don't think we are going
to any help with this.
