Notepad

When I try to open a txt file, I get the message: ...
whatever.txt is not a valid Win32 application.

What can be done to once again have my txt files open with
Notepad?

Any help is most appreciated!
 
Copy notepad.exe from C:\Windows into C:\Windows\System32 overwriting the
file. See if that helps.
