Steve

Greetings.

My Notepad program spontaneously closes (without a save
prompt) every now and then, whenever I'm viewing editing
a .txt file. No other program is doing this. What could
be going on?

Steve, it could be corrupt. If you have a WinXP CD try a System File
Check. Go to Start>Run type:
sfc /scannow There should be a space between c and the slash
and the cd should be in the
cdrom drive.
