Notepad problem upon login

I opened an e-mail with a notpad attachment which I tried to open. I could
not open it. After that every time I log on to my computer I get a small
square box that says - "The system cannot find the specified path" OK! Behind
that little square box is a big square box that is titled "Untitled Notepad".
Can someone tell me what to do so these do not come up everytime I log on to
my computer. Thank you!

I believe it was but it would not open for me and then caused this problem.

Notpad is a virus. It replaces notepad with notpad and renames notepad to notpad. So it's hard to know what you mean - too many nots and notes. Your AV probably deleted the file.
