Notepad: Edit menu - Go To option not enabled (always greyed-out)

In Notepad, the Edit menu "Go To" option allows you to type in a line
number to go to.
I use it for quick debugging purposes at work, but noticed today on my home
computer that the option is greyed-out - this goes for new documents,
viewing source, everything.
Anybody have any ideas why?
Microsoft KB no help.
