Sometimes you can get them to reset by removing the CMOS battery.
Sometimes there is a jumper on the motherboard.
First, try the battery.
Otherwise... anything else is A PAIN in the butt. Refer to Mueller's
"Upgrading and Repairing Laptops" chapter 3 and be prepared to suffer.
