Not-working Soundcard under DOS Emu

Hi world, here's my problem. My soundcard (an honest
SoundBlaster16 (Original!) is sadly silent under DOS
application while I'm using Win2000. (I like old programs
like FT2 and still want to use them!). Just think that I'm
keeping installed Win95 (with Win2k, too!) simply to use
these programs -but it's a mess! Why my soundboard won't
play under DOS windows? What's wrong? Wrong drivers,
maybe???

You have hit the nail on the head. "DOS" under Windows 2000 is an
emulation and as such does not provide software direct access to the
hardware.
