Not showing 4GB of RAM in Vista Ultimate 64

Ok guys,

I know it has been discussed numerous times but It's driving me crazy
and I cant find any thread that actually has a solution. I have 4 GB
of RAM installed and vista will only show 2 GB. That said, I'll try to
dish out all the information you need now so I dont have to keep
coming back and giving it again, here goes....

Running Vista Ultimate 64bit version
4x1GB sticks of Corsair RAM installed
BIOS is indeed saying that 4GB or RAM is installed and usable
Latest BIOS
If it matters, mobo is an Asus M2N32-SLI deluxe

Did I miss anything? The system is running smooth with all 4 installed
but it only looks like 2 gb is being used. under windows XP x64 it
worked fine also...

I did a system build for someone quite a while ago that I had a little
problem with. If 4GB of RAM were installed, the system blue screened
at startup. It turned out that vista had to be installed with 2 gb and
then patched with a hotfix from microsoft before 4gb would work. Does
anyone know the location of this hotfix?

Thanks all and sorry for another post on this. I look forward to the
responses.

Oh and I forgot, SP1 is installed as well, so I'm still lost as to why
it wont show 4GB

It is usually due to a memory remapping setting in the BIOS on some mobos.
I've never had to do it but the folks over in
microsoft.public.windows.64bit.general know all about it.
