Not show all shared files and folders

I am running into an odd sharing problem on my home network. When viewing a
shared folder from another computer on the network often it will not show
some of the files and subfolders that are there. I can access the
file/folder by typing it into the Address bar of explorer. For example,
under my important installs shared folder the codecs folder has 7 files and
is 32.6mg. Viewing it from another computer on my network there are 4 files
and it is 13.9mg in size.
The 2 computers involved have XP Home with SP2 and all updates.
I have tried unsharing and resharing.
Tried maping network drive and get same behavior.
Ran Network setup wizard on both computers.
Any help would be appreciated

Configuring both computers to show hidden files/folders and protected
operating system files might help. Those settings are in My Computer
| Tools | Folder Options | View.

Sorry, knew I forgot to put down all of the things I have tried. Both
computers are configured to show the contents of hidden folders, system
folders, and operating system files.
