not sharing applications between user accounts

in our house one user wants to use Yahoo Messenger and other users do not.
however the other users get the Yahoo auto login screens everytime they log
in. Can't find a way to configure so only the Yahoo user will see Yahoo.
any ideas?!
 
surely someone is running a home system with several accounts. how do you
keep apps like Yahoo in one account only....
