Not saving any personal info... what's going on?

Well, a few hours ago I shut down the computer properly, and when I
restarted, all my documents were gone and I had to reconfigure MSN. I shut
down again thinking it could only happen once, and when I restarted I got the
same.

Also, the Ghostsurf we installed is now MIA. Anyone have any ideas?
