Not saving access pivotchart changes?

I am generating a pivotchart with smooth lines as an average of items. If it
only contains smooth lines I can save the form. When I add a bar chart to the
same pivotchart using count of items the data will show correctly on the
screen, however if I click save or save as or exit the pivotchart the changes
are NOT saved the next time I open the pivotchart. The same problem happened
in access 2002 and 2003. The database is located on a local hard drive so no
other users have the ability to open at the same time. Any body got any ideas
on how to work around this?
