Not responding

While trying to insert AVI files with a codec that has
worked in the past. I get the hour glass...and it just
sits there. Check the WIndows Task Manager and PP is Not
Responding.
 
How large is it, how long do you wait, what else is running, anit-virus scan
active, etc.?
