Not Responding Messages

I have been having constant problems with programs not responding. Internet
Explorer, AIM, AOL Explorer, Winodws Media Player, iTunes, Adobe Photoshop
Elements 3.0 ...basically all of my programs are constantly freezing up and
"Not Responding". My computer is very slow to start up as well. It takes like
10 minutes to log on to my computer! I am running Windows XP Media Center
Edition 2005 on a Dell Dimension Desktop that is no more than 6 months old. I
checked the memory usage, and that should not be affecting the operation. I
don't know what do do!!! Any ideas???

Check out a thread called "Re: Start...All Programs". Go immediately
to the startup tab and uncheck EVERYTHING you don't need or want to
startup when you boot up. Defrag, if necessary.
