not receiving some incoming email

There have been several instances lately of email sent to me, that has been
returned to the sender as 'undeliverable'. These emails are not blocked by
me. Some of these have been very important.
Can anyone tell me what to do about this?
 
Maybe, but we'll need to know exactly what the undeliverable message the
sender receives says.
