not receiving email

I have been able to send but not receive email since Friday the 16th. I am
using earthlink via Outlook. Up until now I have had no problems. Now when i
click send/receive it immediatley sends but stalls when trying to receive
incoming email. Will not even allow a test email. The status bar says Outlook
is synchronizing folders, and an icon that says Symantec email scanning is
showing. It's as if outlook is frozen and keeps trying to get the incoming
mail but cannot. When I go to Earthlink's webmail I can send and receive mail
there so I know this is an Outlook issue but have no clue what is going on.
Please help!!! Thanks.

Disable any Symantec integration with Outlook

John Blessing -- thanks for your help but I am not sure how to disable
symantec integration with outlook. Can you please help me out there? Thank
you.

You'll need to open your Antivirus and locate the Options (where to find the
options depends on what version of antivirus you use). In those options
there is typically a setting or group of settings for E-mail, and in those
settings are options to enable or disable scanning of incoming and/or
outgoing e-mail.
