Not possible to paste pictures from MS Word to Widows Mail?

I want to send some screen shots via email

I tried to paste directly into email but it just leaves outline (no picture)
I tried to paste into MS word convert to HTML picture type and then paste
into email but still no joy

It know it's possible to insert picture files if i save them - but it's also
possible to paste picture into email direct

Is is not possible to paste directly from clipboard?

Windows Mail won't accept pictures while they are open in some other
program.

No, you can't paste pictures into Windows Mail. You can attach them.

If you upgrade to Windows Live Mail you will be able to paste pictures.
