Not getting all clips in collection

Hello,

A very similar questions was asked on 9/6/2003 "MM2
not "clipping" whole file." I'm getting the same problem,
but I don't see a final answer on the 9/6 question. But
there was an allusion to many reasons why clips can't be
generated. Is there a reference detailing those reasons?

I captured the first part (4 minutes) of my video with
clips just fine into a .wmv file. Another day I returned
to capture the rest of the video and only got the first
two clips (clip 1=17 seconds and clip 2=8 seconds) in my
collection. The whole 18 minute (part 2) video captured
successfully to my hard drive and plays fine in Windows
Media Player. Also in WMP when I select View - File
Markers I can see all of the date/time codes where each of
the clips begin. I tried importing the .wmv into a
collection with clips and I still only get the same first
two clips. I tried importing the .wmv into a collection
without clips and only get clip 1 (17 seconds).

How can I get MM2 to recognize the rest of this video?

The successful capture was 25MB and the unsuccessful
capture was 140MB. Is this a size problem?

Athlon 2400
128MB ram
40GB hard drive

Thanks,
Rye

Problem solved, FWIW. Tried the import again the next day
and it recognized all clips immediately. So either
closing the program or re-booting or both solved the
problem.

Rye,

Good for this one, but your 128MB of RAM is so low that you can expect to
run into other challenges as you do video work. If you can easily notch it
up, it'll be a good investment.
