not enough memory

When doing a 'paste special' to place a word document into I get this
message, "There isn't enough memory to complete the automation object
operation on that document object."
I originally had 1mb, but up it to 3mb of memory and I still get the same
message. I scan word documents into a Word file, then copy each document and
'paste special' into Access.
For example, I was scanning and linking word documents of the originally
contracts with different vendors. This procedure worked just fine. But when
I started receiving the signed contracts and tried to replace the original
unsigned contracts is when the problem began.
In my Access database I have other linked files that work fine. I can
update an existing document without any problem. It is only with the signed
contracts. The only difference in the unsigned contract and the signed one
is a signature. I thought behaps the error was because I was using Access
2003, but I purchased a new lap top with Access 2007 and the same error
message appears.
Thank you for your assistance.

I'm going to take a wild guess that the signature is a linked image file,
and that file is not available to other documents (Access). May I suggest
that instead of trying to paste data from Word into Access, you save the
path to the Word file in an Access text field. The you can just use Access
to open Word with that file. If you have a lot of such files, you can use
the following utility to collect them up for your Access database:
