not enough memory

i am having problems with my PC, which runs windows xp.
programs fail to open with the warning that there is "not enough memory
"or "out of system resources". nothing else is running other than a
firewall and antivirus.

how do i handle this?

After running erwido and trend and cleaning, the problem seems to have
dissapeared. I am rather puzzled, as i run AVG and Windows defender almost
daily, and I had run ewido just a couple of days ago.

I am still not sure THAT was the problem.... but all seems ok for now. Ig
anything else shoes up I'll post you.

I must eat my words. I am clean as I will ever be. I still getting problemes.
Vatrios programs shut down with an alarm pop up saying out of resources. Outlook
does noy display the contents in the boxes, if it opens at all. It tell me there
is insufficient virtual memory and also, this program requires the Window
Installer to open- whatever that is.
