Heard in days of yore that you should not use the
username as machine name on an NT/2K domain because it
could cause "domain issues". Anyone able to shed light on
this? Is this just something leftover from NT domains
that is no longer applicable?

Is it so critical that you need to do such a thing?
Hi George,

just try it yourself - log on with your username and put a "$" Sign behind it,
e.g. for me that would be ulf$

It's working - right? That would be the account a computername has with the
same name as the username, but a different password. Those are the conflicts.

Gruesse - Sincerely,

Ulf B. Simon-Weidner
