- Laptop and desktop both use XP Home.
- A week ago was able to share files and printer between
them
- Now when I try to connect I get message that network
path not found, may not have rights, etc.
- When I say "View workgroup computers" from the laptop,
I see both machines.
- When I try it from the desktop I get an
error: "(workgroup name) is not accessible... The list of
servers for this workgroup is not currently available."

I've tried a number of suggested approaches from this
newsgroup without success. Any ideas?

I ran into the same problem. All I had to do was turn
both comupters off and reset the router. Boot both
computers back up and it should connect fine. Try
installing new Firmware for your router also.

I am also having that problem. I can see my laptop with
my PC, but cannot see anything with my laptop. Both are
on XP, both share the same Workgroup. I cannot see
anything from my laptop when I go into "View Workgroup
Computers". I get an error message stating, "Workgroup is
not accessible. You might not have permission to use this
network resource...." If anyone could help, I would
really appreciate it. I just changed over to XP from
Win2000. I checked everything I can think of and the
settings on my PC look the same as on my laptop, but
there must be some security issues or something that is
not allowing my laptop to be accessed. I shared the
drive, etc...Please Help!

Try looking into the 'properties' of your 'local area
connection' and see if you have 'Net Firewal Service'
checked. If so, uncheck it. That's what worked for me.
