Not able to send msgs from outlook

My out going mail does not seem to work!

i have put in the smtp address & know it is right, I can
type a new mail & send it to the out box but it doesnt go
from there. Clicking on the send receive button also does
not help.

Please help me
 
You first. Version of Outlook? Send/receive settings? Connection type
(Internet Explorer->Tools->Options), etc?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, shan asked:
