Not able to Retain Cookies in IE 6 Anymore Even I Set The Privacy Setting to Low

My son was using the cookies happily until he installed
the latest version of Media Player. After that, he lost
all his cookies. What's worse is that the cookies he
created during the session will be lost once he logs
off. I tried the Privacy setting for him but it didn't
work.

I tried to use the CUSTOM function but I just found out
that the function (and unrelatedly, the home page URL as
well) was dimmed and therefore cannot be accessed. I
tried re-installing the IE for him but smae things happen!

Can somebody help? Many thanks.

Pls do not tell me simply to enable the Cookies in Tool
because there is no such thing in IE 6. I know that you
have to go in through TOOLS/INTERNET OPTIONS/PRIVACY but
even after I set the option to the lowest level (ACCEPT
ALL COOKIES), it still will not retain the cookies when
my son logs off and logs back in.

I am having this problem as well. I believe that it has to do with the most recent Windows Critical Update. As if yet, I have not been able to find a work around but I keep in trying
