Cookie Privacy Settings Cannot Be Changed

A

Andrew

I need to access a website and I get the message "Enable
Cookies". I have tried changing cookie settings in
tools/options/privacy but when I leave and then reopen the
window the original settings have returned. Is it some
software on my computer resetting the cookie privacy
level? I run a firewall, adware software and virus checker.
Hope someone can help. Thanks.

Hi Andrew.

Answer to your question.

To resolve the issue you have to enable cookies from your
internet browser.

Here are the steps to enable cookies.

Enabling Cookies in Internet Explorer 6.0

1) Open Internet Explorer, click on Tools, Internet options

2) Please click on the Privacy tab and then click on the
Advanced button.

3) Check the box that says "Override automatic cookie
handling". Place a dot in Accept in First party cookies as
well as third party cookies.

4) Then check mark the box that says "Always allow session
cookies".

5) Click on OK and Click on OK.

This is all you need to do to fix your issue.

Please Reply me back once your issue is resolved also if
not I will help you out to resolve the issue.

Hi James,

I followed your instructions precisely and pressed
OK ...OK at the end to close down the windows. I still
have the same problem when I open tools ...etc./privacy
again. All the settings have been changed back and there
is a title on the first page of Privacy CUSTOM - ADVANCED
OR IMPORTED SETTINGS.Something in my computer is changing
the settings back after I have made the changes.
Hope you know the answer. Many Thanks.

Hi there

I have exactly the same problem. Did you find a solution?

I have the exact same problem. No amount of changing the settings in
IE6 helps because the instant you close and reopen the Internet
Options dialogue the Privacy Settings revert back to "Custom/Advanced"
setting.

I've read all the MS KB articles and none of them are applicable.

Getting frustrated!
