Not able to get onto Network

PLEASE HELP: I recently received a new HDD with an image
for Win2000. During the setup, the typical and custom
options for networking were skipped, now after I manually
enter all my info for the network, I get an error saying
the cable is unplugged.

It is a Fulitsu Pentablet in a docking station. It

finds the NIC just fine, I un-install it and upon reboot
it installs it again. I am thinking there is a setting
in Windows somewhere that I am missing.
