Norton w/XP

When I run Norton Antivirus I get about 19 of these, all in the RECYCLER
directory:

"The compressed file ACDSee 9.exe within
C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-3293823761-1439906313-590260106-500\Dc18 is infected
with the W32.Beagle.AO@mm virus."

When I run FXBEAGLE from Norton (which is designed to get rid of the beagle
virus) it does not detect any problems.

When I search for:
C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-3293823761-1439906313-590260106-500\Dc18, it can not be
found by Windows XT.

I suspect that C:\RECYCLER is part of Norton's protected deletions program,
but that it does not really exist as a directory.

Does anybody have a clue as to what the hell is going on?

Sounds like you don't have your file manager turned on to show hidden
folders. I see the C:\Recycler folder just fine. And it is a hidden
folder.

If using Windows Explorer, go to Tools/Folder Options/View and click
on Show hidden files and folders.

I followed the direction: "If using Windows Explorer, go to Tools/Folder
Options/View and click
on Show hidden files and folders."

Windows Explorer already had the show hidden files and folders option on.

I see that C:\Recycler is one of the folders excluded from Norton
Protection, but still can't find it.

Did you delete everything in the Recycle bin as well as all the Norton
Protected files?

Select Recycle Bin, right click, and empty both items.

Then run another manual full scan, and let us know if that took care
of it.

Received this solution from another newsgroup:

Empty your recyle bin. That's what the C:\recycler is...it has nothing
to do with Norton. But it has infected files in it. The "Fixbeagle" program
from Norton is not looking at the recycle bin. You should also turn off the
system restore to clear all those files too, then turn it back on.
