I found a virus in my system volume information directory
with F-prot. But when I tried to scan with Norton,
comprehensive scan, it did not find anything as if it did
not look into the directory, When I manually found the
directory and made it scan, it did not find anything
either. The only time it found it,when i made it scan
the file with the virus. Isnt it suppose to scan all the
files or it does not scan system volume information?

Ask Norton for details on what Norton is supposed to do.

System Volume Information is the system Restore data.
Turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot.
This deletes ALL Restore Points including corruption.
Then go back and turn on system Restore and create a Restore Point.
