I have a similar problem. I attempted to install SystemWorks 2006, everything
was fine untill GoBack was being installed (part of the SystemWorks Suite),
it ended up blue screening. Now I have some major problems, most of my
programs will not launch, the only program that IO have had sucess in
launching is my mozilla firefox browser. I cannot get into my control panels,
system restore, system info, dr.watson, etc. I know this is not a hardware
problem everything was fine before and when I do get a browser running, it
works like it should. The only was I am able to get system restore to work is
through the start/run command and when I do it hangs. I reinserted the norton
disk and did a uninstall, but no changes. I am thinking that Norton added
something to the MBR?

I am running XP Pro SP2 3.06 proccessor, 256 MB Ram, maxtor 200GB HDD

Here is a copy of my hijack this log, not sure if it will help or not:

Yes, you are right.

GoBack interfaces between the MBR and you and to correct this you need to
remove that bit of the installation to cerrect things.

Please be warned that it could also be your drivers that's causing the
conflict espesciallly if the error starts with

Error: "STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}. The session Manager
Initialization system ..."

To disable GoBack:

1. Restart the computer.
2. When the GoBack screen appears, press the space-bar.
3. On the GoBack menu, click Disable GoBack and then click Yes

Then, you need to run the utility in your CD called GB_prog.exe

Use the link below:

MH...

I disabled GoBack, ran the utility as described on Symantec's site running
the gb-prog.exe utility first with the "u" switch and nothing really happened
and returned to the A prompt, then I ran the "r" switch. It gave me a message
that it did not find "GoiBackIO.Bin" file and if I would like toi search the
entire drive I choose yes, and as it took a few days to scan the drive. I
woke up this morning to an "A" prompt. Nothing on the screen and no log file
was created that I know of. Is there any other options that I have?
