When I double click on the recycle bin, I get a list of all protected files
on my computer. Is it safe to delete these files and what are they???

Thanks in advance

They are files that you, or a program deleted! The recycle bin is a last
line of defense against our own stupidity. Look there if you ever delete
anything accidentally.

As far as cleaning the bin out - it will dump a file automatically after 7
days or if the maximum size allocated for use has been exceeded (default
settings). I recommend that people who are just learning about their
computer to leave it alone. It's there for your protection!
