I cannot open or download pdf files from the internet, nor can I send
or receive mails in outlook...I suspect this is all down to norton
internet security 2005..can anybody help???????? please????

1) Have you got Adobe reader installed on your system? If not then you
need to install this first. XP hasn't got its own pdf reader but Office
12 will have it next year when it comes out.

2) You can only send/receive emails if your outlook is properly
configured. You need to set your ISP details and insert pop3 and SMTP
details.

3) Do you get any error messages? If so let us know what these are.
Don't mess around with Nortons as it is likely there is nothing to do
with it. By messing around with it, you will will make it worse.

Hi.

Adobe is good but if you just need a .pdf reader you can try out Foxit PDF
reader here http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php
It is very small and nice, not such a heavy program as Adobe reader and it
is clean as far as I know.

Disable the function in Norton to scan incomming e-mails also, that "can" be
one reason for you to not being able to send or receive.

Best regards.

Gunilla.
