My version Norton System Works expires in September, The autoprotect now
fails (remains disabled) to start and I get Navapsvc service could not
be deleted.
I re-installed Norton with the same response.
Up to date virus definition and full search reveals no virus.

Suggestions please.

Go to the Symantec site and let it check your installation and use the
"automated support assistant" on this support page:
http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/support_options.html
They also have instructions on how to do a 'complete' uninstall. It is
pretty involved and also includes a 'cleaner'.
First of all, I would do one of the free 'online' virus scans listed
below.
Also you might want to try the latest free AdAware SE Person Edition
ver 1.03 and check for spyware, etc.
