Norton or XP Defrag

I have Norton System Works and use it to defrag my hard drives.
When I run XP's buily in Degrag is says I have big chunks of disk space that
needs to be defragged. WHich program is closer to being right?
If XP's defrag is correct I will just use that.
Anyone seen this discrepancy?
Thanks

I have seen that XP's defrag program (based on Diskeeper) must run a few
times in order for it to completely defrag a hard drive. I'd recommend O&O
Defrag if you want a good defrag program.

Never used PerfectDisk like Carey's recommending. Might be worth a shot as
well.

It is best to choose one Defragmenter program and stick with it.
Different programs defragment the disk differently, so that a disk defragged
by one program may still look fragmented to another program.

I use Vopt XP v 7.22

Avoid Norton defrag. It has not really been updated for XP. Choose
something (inbuilt or I use Perfect Disk) and use *only* that - do not
mix

Dump anything/everything you have in Nortons (and take it as a learned loss), and use PerfectDisk; it is the best I have ever used.

As far as realtime performance, defrag, partitioning, pagefile and a few
others are all _HORSE HOCKEY_....
