Don't know if this is the proper group to post this to and would be happy
to be directed to a more appropriate one.
Runnng winXP Pro with service pack 2. Norton Internet Security is ON and
the windows one turned off.
(1) when I boot up the NIS icon is no longer in the system tray. Yes, I've
told NIS many times to put it there. Occasionally this works, but for the
most part no.
(2) When I go to the symantec site and run their security scan is says the
telnet port is open. But, I don't see how to close it. Yes, I see I can
specify it in the "Advanced" section, but it also looks as if this becomes
the general rule and I don't know which of the other ports to specify as
on/off. I want to be able to say ADD telnet to the list of blocked ports,
leaving other port settings as is.
(3) When I double click the NAV icon in the tray and then click "Norton
Internet Security" it says I need to launch it. Despite the fact that (1)
shows it's already running.
(4) After launching it (again!) in (3) I now run the Symantec sucurity
check and it shows that ALL ports are blocked.
Any help most appreciated.
TIA.
Roy
P.S. If there's a more appropriate group to post this too I'd be pleased to
be told.
