Norton Ghost

Andrew LeBell

I have purchased 5 new computers with licence tags
attached to the computers for Windows 2000. I installed
the first machine completely with all applications
required. I then used Norton ghost to clone the other
machines. I am looking for information on how to change
the product key so it matches the license tag on the
computer. The registry refers only to a numeric number
00039 oem ZZZZZ ZZZZ. I did not use sysprep just ghost to
clone

Works Great

Any help would be appreciated

You should use Sysprep. It will then prompt for a product key. Ideally you
would run Sysprep just prior to creating your image, however you can still
run Sysprep on the 5 machines that are in place and you will be prompted for
product key (and locale info) when they are restarted. If they are
currently joined to a domain, you will need to rejoin them after running
Sysprep.

You could always opt for the Value License Pack VLPK or go for SYSPrep if
you want to ensure you have the correct licenses for each machine
