Norton Ghost Question

Hi,

If one is using Norton Ghost, is the following possible:

1) Transferring ALL partitions ( 3 of them)on a hard drive to another hard
drive, or, can it only transfer 1 partition.

2) Backup question: When making a bootable backup of your "c" drive, every
so often when certain files change on "c", can you choose an option that
will allow you only to transfer changed files, so a ful ltransfer would not
be necessary, thereby ensuring the backup bootable drive contents are
current.

TIA,

Jeff

Yes.

or, can it only transfer 1 partition.

You can do that too if you want.

Gets pretty messy if you want to transfer all partitions
to a new drive and dont want the automatic resizing of
the partitions if the new drive is bigger than the old one tho.

And if you want to transfer all the partitions, and are happy
with its automatic resizing, its generally better to use Ghost
2003 which comes with Ghost 9 to do that. Ghost 9 can do
it, but it does it at the Win level with 2K/XP and that can get
rather messy partition letter wise.

Just make sure you dont let 2K or XP see both the original
and the copy during the first boot after making the copy,
unplug the cables from the original and boot the copy if
its a bootable system drive. You can plug the original
back in again after the boot and reformat it if you want.

Yes, thats what Ghost calls and incremental backup.

Thats only available in Ghost 9 tho, and that will only
run on 2K and XP, is you're still using Win9x or ME,
incremental backups arent available and you will have
to use the Ghost 2003 that comes on the Ghost 9 CD.
