Norton Antivirus deleted, spam taking over computer

I was sold Gateway tower, keyboard, and speakers. The
monitor is Compaq.(Windows xp Home Edition). The Norton
anti-virus was mistakenly deleted from the computer. I
was told by the sales person where I bought the computer,
that the CD would be found with the rest of my programs.
NOT THERE! If the anti-virus was downloaded onto the
machine by the Manufacterer how would I go about having
them reinstall it? I am unable to access my E-mail in
order to get technical help. The computer keeps telling
me that the date and time has to be corrected in order to
gain access. They are both correct. The computer is also
warning me that the virtual memory is low. Would
purchasing a new Spam blocker and the Noton anti-virus
2004 help to clean out the computer at this stage? Or
will the computer have to be sent away for repairs?

I would take it back and demand my money solely on the
bases of being lied to.
But if you decied to keep it the virtual memory is easy
to adjust but I would at least demand a new copy of
Norton A/V.Still in the box. I don't know about the time
problem but I'm sure its a simple fix.
