Hi!,

I just installed Norton AntiVirus 2005. It automatically negated, or,
disconnected my WIN XP Firewall software; statment said I don't need it
because of their worm software, and that the two would clash.

Am I losing any other attribures of the WIN XP firewall by doing so. If
yes...let them clash! right?

Try finding the answer that on the Norton Website. You'll get lost in a
rat maze for an hour and not get any closer to escaping or getting the
info.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi,

To my knowledge, as I am also using NIS 2005 with SP, you are not losing
anything and this is a way it tries to minimize potential conflicts as well
as leaking information (it uses its own schemes to save and protect stored
security information).

Make sure to have all updates by running LiveUpdates.

You could reactivate Windows firewall as wishes by going to Windows Security
Center in Control Panel.

Hope this helps.

If you wish

You are fine, you only need one firewall (two may fight each other) and
XP's version is the inferior of the two.
