Norton 360 - Network won't connect

H

HOME

OS : Windows Vista Home Basic on both computers
Connection type Lan from desktop to laptop
Norton 360 on both

Laptop is a Toshiba Sattelite A100 - Originally installed with XP Upgraded
to Windows Vista Home Basic
Desktop Is A NEC L1040 - Pre installed with windows Vista Home Basic

I relise that this maybe the wrong area for this but it is related to
security. My norton 360 wont allow me to connect to the network but both can
access the internet. The only way I can do this is by disabling the firewall
and thus placing my computer at risk.

I have placed the settings needed in the general rules area of the firewall,
the settings are as follows -

UDP Ports
3702
137
1900

TCP Ports
5357
5358
139
445
2869

I have all the required settings enabled in the network and sharing centre.
I evan have followd the advice given by the File and Printer Sharing in
Windows Vista from the Microsoft Technet website.

What am i doing wrong

I have no idea about 360, however, can you check if there's a Trusted
Computer feature - if so, perhaps you can define each computer's neighbour?

I am unfamiliar with the procedure of defining computers as neighbours, can
enyone assist me with the steps in doing this.
