Norton 2005 slow down

Am using XP home, after upgrade from Norton internet security 2002 to 2005
my computer has turned into a tortoise, its slowed down badly. Any advice
would be great, thanks

02-to-05 is going to raise the memory requirements quite a bit. You're
probably looking at a constant 38 Megabyte draw with NIS-2005. I
have only found one thing to mitigate it somewhat and that is clearing &
disabling the extensive logging NIS does. Probably would be a good
idea to check your System/Application Event Logs. Many times NIS
will have some Service Start issues that would get logged there. Also
I would update Live Update (Manually) and repetitively run it until all
available patches/updates are applied.

You may not like this answer, but if you want advice, get rid of Norton
Internet Security. It's junk. There are lots of better alternatives that are
freeware.
