Hello,

Just downloaded ver.6 and all seems ok at the moment?

Please can anyone help as in MSN Messenger under
tools,options, messeges,under file transfer you have a
box saying 'scan files for viruses using..When you click
the box and then browse, you go into program files, which
I click Norton Anti-Virus, then I get lost as there are
11 option to choose from? They are, 'Advance tools
folder, Quarantine folder, Bootwarn prog, ccimscan prog,
cfgwiz prog, navapsvc prog, navapw32 prog, navstub prog,
navw32 prog, navwnt prog, and qconsole prog'. Which one
do you click so that Norton Anti-Virus can scan for
incoming files? I also have enabled MSN Messenger in
Norton's internet protect box?

Thanks

Hmmm... Thanks, I'd better uncheck the virus checker in
Messenger 6.0?

Steve

You don't really need it anyway because as soon as the file is downloaded,
Norton's always-on scanner will scan it.

I once downloaded a file from Messenger with a virus, and
it did not turn up untill a virus scan? Could have caused
a lot of damage??? I would have preferred to detect the
virus before or during download!

Thanks

Steve

As long as the "always-on" scanner (usually found in the system tray) is on
it should catch all files that are written or read.
