normal hibernation vs HORM

Hello,

Can someone briefly explain the difference between normal hibernation and
HORM. Is it just the use of EWF in HORM? If you don't need EWF can you use
normal hibernation and get roughly the same boot time?

Thanks,

ArtRab,

HORM is XPe feature that make use of EWF and system hibernation.
Restoring from hibernation file (hiberfil.sys) in HORM and "regular hibernation" is virtually the same by definition of the HORM.

And of course, if you don't need HORM specifics (always restoring the system to the same - previously saved - state) you can just
remove or disable EWF, enable hibernation in your config and use it the same way you do that on XP Pro. This is, of course, assuming
you got all the required components in your image (kernel, disk dump drivers, etc.)
