Once in a while, I am given the open to save Normal.dot. At the moment, I
can't remember the reason given.

My question is, what are the consezuences of saving or not saving when such
a warning is given?

Hi Guy

You are asked to save Normal.dot when you have made a change to it. That
could be something you've explicitly stored, like a recorded macro or
AutoText, or a change to format that you've elected to write back to the
template or make a 'Default', or changes to toolbars and options (easy to be
unaware you've done these).

If you save, the changes will be there when you open Word again; if not,
there gone.
