Noob save question

Ok every time I open a new web it saves itself as myweb1,2,3,4,5 etc. I'm up
to myweb25 and I'm tired of it. I have the webs I want saved by their name
but how do I stop it from saving as myweb all the time. The initial folder is
My Webs and it just keeps adding more. I do not want it to save as myweb1,
myweb2,myweb3 and so on and so on. It's almost reduced me to tears because
I've googled and read every damn page I can find and not one word about this,
any help will result in a sloppy wet kiss, thank you. Oh yea other than that
i've had no problems and I like the program.

Why are you creating new webs / sites, you just need to open the web / site you want to work in
using File Menu | Open Web / Site.

File New Web (or Site) and in the dialog rename the default numbered site to anything you want
- say C:\MyNewestSite

If you're working on a web, you have to open that web with File > Web. Then open
page within that web. (I assuming you are doing this already). Otherwise if you
want your webs to have meaningful names, you create a normal folder in Windows
first (in Windows Explorer for instance). Then when you Open > Web and select
that folder you created in Windows Explorer, in Frontpage, and it will ask "Do
you want to create a new web...." (to that effect) and it will add in its special
folders (_private, _vti_....and so on).

However if the above is not the issue you're having trouble with...so if you
don't want to "Save As" then just click "Save".(it should be on the file menu)

Are you saying "there's no 'Save' command on the menu?"

There should be. Windows/Frontpage has a function that "hides" less used menu
options (to tidy them up) so your menus should have a little down-arrow at the
foot of each, but specifically in this case, the File menu, which retracts and
hides the less used functions. You need to expand the menu to see all the
options - if you click down arrow, the full menu will be displayed and you should
have a "Save" option.

Otherwise the little icon on the tool bar (the floppy disk icon) is the button
for saving the file.

Since "Save" is an option most people would use all the time, I don't know why it
is hidden away as it is - that happens on my system as well.

If this is not the problem could you explain further?

Bob -

You must rename the new web when you OPEN it. Saves are automatic.
