None of my restore points work in my Win XP Pro

None of my restore points work, I can't use the management console, or
whatever they call it, booting from the CD, because honestly I don't
remember my password. Is there any help for this old senior citizen? Any

Sounds like your restore points have gotten corrupted.
It seems to happen. The best prevention method (and only fix I know of) is
given below.. It erases all previous restore points, but if you do it
regularly, then you won't have to worry much about that.

Turn off System Restore.

Reboot.

Turn on System Restore.
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=310405

Make a Manual Restoration Point.
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/maintain/xpsysrst.mspx

(That, of course, will erase the previous restore point you have.)

Now if that is not what you meant - please describe in more detail - in the
newsgroup thread - not via email - what you are trying to do.

Hi, Peter. Unfortunately, you haven't given us any information about the
root problem so we can't help you with that. The Recovery Console
password is usually blank. If you set a different password (if you have
XP Pro, for instance) and can't remember it, there are ways of getting
into the system. However, based on your post, I'd suggest either 1)
reposting (to this same thread, please) the original problem so you can
get help; or 2) take the machine to a good local repair shop and have
them fix it for you.

Using XP, start, all programs, accessories, system tools, system restore -
but system restore window won't come up. Anyone got any help on why the
restore window won't load.

Frank, don't hijack someone else's thread. That might be the reason you
haven't received any responses. Create a new post for a new problem.
That said you should also give more details. What is your system, any
error messages, why are you trying to do a restore, etc.
