Non-existent hardware detected

I've been having trouble for about 8 months with XP
detecting two new 'printers' every time I load Windows;
this happens even when my printer is not plugged in. I
can isolate the problem to XP because when I boot into ME
[or any other operating system], no new devices are
detected. This started happening some time after I
installed my ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, but I'm not sure I can
tie the two together because unfortunately my memory is
too fuzzy to recall if it occured exactly when I
installed it or after that. I am assuming, though, that
it's some random system device being incorrectly detected
as a printer. When I try to go ahead and 'install it',
obviously it can't/won't because there's nothing to
install and it has no idea what the device is.

At any rate, I used process explorer to get some info
about the hardware detection process via rundll32, but I
don't know if it's of any help.
