Non-Destuctive Restore "Finish" screen hangs

I've had problems with SP2 and wanted to remove it. I tried Un-installing it
but that created more problems. I reinstalled and got rid of the new
problems. Then planned on doing a system restore, but I've had SP2 too long.
There was no available restore PRE-installation of SP2, so I opted to do a
Non-Destructive Restore. It completes just fine until the "Finish" screen,
where it just hangs. I found some posts somewhere where someone else had the
same problem and saw that everyone else said "You need the Recovery CDs."
Okay, I ordered the CDs @ $37.25. I have now tried the Recovery with the CDs
with no more luck than previously...still hanging at the "Finish" screen. I
really don't want to lose everything I have on my computer, but if that's
what I have to do I guess I won't have a choce.

If you run an XP "Upgrade"setup, from the original, or "Gold" version of the setup CD, and you have SP2 installed, it might go into
a setup loop, and you could lose your install. Uninstall SP2, BEFORE you Upgrade setup from CD (that lacks sp2 on it.)
