I can recreate this error at will and can also prevent it, although I
don't know why.

I've a brand new Dell 2400 running XP Pro. When I insert some (but
not all) of my CDs that have photography on them, my system will blue
screen and I'll get a message saying NO_MORE_IRP_STACK_LOCATIONS with
a stop code of 0x00000035. I went into safe mode and spent an hour
or so disabling startup options and services, then rebooting. What
ended up preventing the error was disabling the Plug And Play service.

Anyone have any ideas?

Some other things I tried were:

Opened CD on Win 2000 machine – worked.

Went into device driver and told it to update the driver for the
cd-rom – no new driver found.

Tried other CD's. Some blow up and some work. All have photoshop and
Quark files on them.

Hey thanks for the help. I've seen those articles and that's what led
me to try updating the CD-ROM driver. No luck though. Also tried
increasing the stack from 15 to 30 in the registry.

I did just notice that the CD's that cause the blue screen are disks I
get from a design firm that uses Mac's. I've got some software named
Mac Opener that let's me open Mac formatted disks on 2000 and XP. I'm
looking at that as my next likely culprit. Will post my findings.

Well it's not the Mac opener software. Still getting blue screens
when I access certain CD's. Dell tech support advised me to upgrade
my USB drivers, which I did even though there are no USB devices
attached to the machine.
