No XP CD

Quick Question: I have a Sony Vaio VGC-RA718G running Media Center Edition.
My computer came with no sort of windows XP Recovery CD that everyone is
always talking about. Is it possible to completely restore Windows without
this disc?

No, you will need a disk but any OEM disk will do as long as you use your
same key.

The manufacturer has to provide you with some means of restoring the
system. They have three options:

1. A windows installation CD with CDs for reinstalling apps

2. A recover CD

3. A hidden partition on the hard drive from which the system can be
restored to the state it was in when purchased.

They must provide a way to restore the computer as it was when new.

my HP computer came without a cd but an option to create a one time recovery
disk set. this should come from the manufacturer. Kleo

You might be able to get a restore cd from http://www.ambry.com. They
usually carry all of them.
