Merged cells?

I tried it both ways. Started with single cells, set to wrap. Some did, some
didn't
Tried merging two cells (hoping to increase capacity), but no difference in
performance.

Can no one help with this?

Are you sure it's a wordwrap issue?

Lots of people complain that with long text in a cell, the text wraps until it
reaches a certain point. Then the rest of the string just seems to go
away--stop appearing totally.

If that's the case with you, then maybe it's not a wordwrap problem. And you
can avoid this problem by adding alt-enters (to force a new line within the
cell) every 80-100 characters.

And if the text in the cell is extremely long, you may have to adjust the
rowheight manually.

Obviously I can adjust the height manually... I can do a lot of things
manually, but I am using a computer and expect to the computer to do its
job.

My real question, though, was can someone explain why in some cells the text
will wrap properly - through several lines - and others in the same column,
with the same formatting, only wrap two or three lines?

The more I read elsewhere, it appears that this is an Excel anomaly that MS
has chosen not to fix, but I would appreciate a definitive answer

I would think that if someone knew the answer, they would have posted by now.

So either people can't duplicate the problem or the people who've read the
message don't know the answer.
